Pipeline

• It's not a pipeline if it needs a human in the loop

• Use high-level languages (perl, java, python) for care-taking tasks and low-level languages (C, Fortran)

• Pipeline has to run automatically (headers!) and robustly (errors!)

• Full data reduction means reliable data products (positions and fluxes)

• Plug-and-play algorithm engines allow effort-free upgrades

• Life is too short to re-invent flat-field removal
